PMU Brows FAQ's
An ideal client is someone who has normal to dry skin and no health issues. Clients with more oily skin will be encouraged to receive a Powder Brow.
Contradictions may apply to certain clients, however you are NOT a good candidate if you answer yes to any of the following:
- Under 18
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have uncontrolled diabetes
- A history of keloid scarring
- Accutane (must be off of treatment for a full year)
- Had an organ transplant
- Epilepsy
- Very Oily Skin
- Had Botox within 4 weeks of appointment
- Tanning Bed users
- Sick with cold or flu-like symptoms
- Have tested positive or exposed to Covid-19 within the last 3 weeks
We suggest that you wait at least 6 months after undergoing Chemotherapy to make an appointment. However, in special circumstances and with a doctors approval (required), we can offer services on clients undergoing chemotherapy. It is suggested that you schedule your appointment the furthest date from your most recent chemo treatment (or the day before your next chemo treatment). Again, a doctors note will be required for all appointments within 1 year of undergoing chemotherapy..
NO! Semi-Permanent Brows are much less invasive than eyebrow tattoos. Semi-Permanent Brows only reach the upper layers of the dermis, whereas tattooing goes much deeper into the skin’s surface.
Because Semi-Permanent Brows only enter the upper layers of the dermis, there will be areas that fade. This is normal. Microblading and Combination brows ALWAYS require a touch up. Powder Brow touch ups will be determined at appointment based on skin type and lifestyle.
Pain is relative, but we have yet to have a client who was unable to complete a service because of pain. There is a ‘first brow pass’ that is done without numbing, after which clients will receive a numbing ointment.
Appointments range from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours. Microblading and Powder Brows generally take 2 hours. Combination Brows can take up to 2.5 hrs. Touch ups generally take 1.5 hours. Annual touch ups take about 2 hours.
Sometimes. If you are looking to get a touch up or brow cover up from a service performed by a previous artist we will require a clear photo of your brows without makeup. If you have any scarring, severe color or shaping issues, we will not be able to cover-up or touch-up your brows.
The healing process is 10 days. The first day your brows may be red and swollen, which will go down within 24 hours. The first 3 days your brows will appear the darkest. Around day 5-6 your brows will begin to lighten up and likely start flaking. You can expect your healed result around day 10.
I work with each client individually to achieve desired shapes and realistic expectations. NO procedures will begin until we have the clients approval.
Consultations are built into the beginning of every appointment. Although you must choose a service while booking, we will discuss what look you are trying to achieve in addition to what service is best for your skin type and lifestyle. We encourage our clients to bring photos of brows they like. If you are unsure of Semi-Permanent Brows, we offer over the phone consultations to answer any and all questions.
Yes. We will remove the makeup around your brow area.
No. It is suggested that you do not get your brows waxed or threaded at least 1 week before your appointment
